Signing of a memorandum of understanding between Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in and Yukon University

Memorandum of Agreement on Education Co-Governance, Yukon University and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in

YukonU and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in have formalized their relationship for collaboration and shared decision-making in post-secondary education on Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) under section 17.7 of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Self Government Agreement. While much of the work that has occurred at the Tr’odëk Hätr’unohtän Zho campus in Dawson City has been in the spirit of section 17.7, this agreement demonstrates our intention to create a lasting framework for co-governance and deepening of our relationships. We are excited to embark on this journey together with our dedicated staff and faculty in Dawson and our partners at Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Government as we move toward a YukonU experience that is respectfully rooted in Dënezhu ways.
