RENR 480 - Applied Statistics for Environmental Sciences
Focuses on problem formulation, method selection, and interpretation of statistical analysis. Covers data management and data visualization, statistical tests for parametric, non-parametric and binomial data, linear and non-linear regression approaches. Participants will gain general statistical literacy and learn how to visualize and analyze data with open-source software packages.
Students must also register in RENR 480L, the mandatory lab component of the course.
Prerequisites: An introductory statistics course (e.g. YukonU MATH 105 or RRMT 202; U of Alberta STAT 151) is strongly recommended.
Registration restricted to students in B.Sc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences program. Non-B.Sc. ENCS students interested in taking RENR 480 should contact the ENCS Program Advisor, Dr. Katie Aitken, at email@example.com, for registration information.
