HRAC CE07 - Yukon Employment Standards Essentials

Yukon Employment Standards Essentials is a practical half-day course designed to help Yukon employers, supervisors, managers, nonprofit leaders, and employees better understand their rights and responsibilities under the Yukon Employment Standards Act.

Many people responsible for managing employees are expected to navigate scheduling, overtime, leaves, vacation pay, payroll practices, and termination — often without formal HR or employment law training. For small employers, seasonal operations, remote workplaces, and organizations without dedicated HR support, understanding and applying the legislation can feel especially challenging. This course translates legislative language into practical workplace application. Rather than reviewing the Act section-by-section, the session focuses on the workplace situations employers encounter most often — and where compliance questions and risks commonly arise. Through discussion, Yukon-specific examples, case studies, and facilitated activities, participants will build confidence interpreting and applying employment standards in real-world workplace situations
