Dawson City is a thriving northern community situated at the confluence of the Chu kon’ dëk (Yukon) and Tr’ondëk (Klondike) rivers in Tr’ondek Hwëch’in Traditional Territory. Dawson is defined by its unique blend of First Nations culture, Gold Rush history, active placer mining industry, and nationally recognized arts community.
The Tr’odëk Hätr’unohtän Zho campus, nestled in the heart of the town, brings together education, research, creativity, and lifelong learning: the campus is home to the Yukon School of Visual Arts (Yùhke Zho) Bachelor of Arts Foundation Year program, Yukon Strategy for Patient Oriented Research (YSPOR) support unit, and offers a robust roster of year-round Continuing Education courses.
Continuing Studies
The Dawson Campus offers year-round credited and non-credit courses and professional development opportunities for learners of all ages and experience levels.
Distance Learning
Students who are enrolled in YukonU's online programs and courses are invited to attend virtually from the campus, drop in anytime for quiet study time, and make use of the campus facilities and services.
Yukon School of Visual Arts (SOVA)
Our campus offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts Foundation Year program featuring intimate class sizes, land-based learning, world-renowned faculty, custom-designed studio spaces, and regular student exhibitions.
Yukon Strategy for Patient Oriented Research (YSPOR)
YSPOR is part of a national network dedicated to improving health outcomes through meaningful and respectful community-driven research. Staff across the Yukon connect governments, organizations, and communities with researchers and funding to support programs, initiatives, and projects related to the unique context of healthcare and wellness in the north.
Services
All are welcome to visit the campus to use wifi and public computers. Printing and photocopying are available for fee. Yukon University also provides invigilation of exams from external institutions. Assistance, exam scheduling, and fee information is provided by contacting the campus.
Facility Rentals
There is selection of Trʼëdädèy (we are working) spaces that can be adapted into public meeting and gathering areas. Room availability, reservations and fee information is provided at our reception desk, or by emailing dawsoncampus@yukonu.ca.
Continuing Studies
Continuing Studies at YukonU offers flexible learning opportunities to help you continue your education, upgrade your skills or discover something entirely new. You can pursue lifelong learning remotely or in-person at our community campuses.
Our personal and professional adult learning courses and customized training are led by industry leaders, local and national experts.

Yùhke Zho
Yukon School of Visual Arts (SOVA)
The Yukon School of Visual Arts (SOVA), located at the Dawson campus, offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts Foundation Year program featuring intimate class sizes, land-based learning, world-renowned faculty, custom-designed studio spaces, and frequent student exhibitions.
Upon graduation, Foundation Year students can complete their BFAs at many art schools across Canada, including OCAD University, NSCAD University, Alberta University of Art + Design, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, University of Ottawa, Mount Allison University, and more.

Yukon Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (YSPOR)
Hätr’unohtän hwëdëk ǹts’ą̈̀’ hǫzǫ srahudè’ (learning through lived experience)
Yukon University is a proud partner of Yukon Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (YSPOR), a national network dedicated to improving health outcomes through meaningful and respectful community-driven research. This goal is achieved through training, capacity development, and knowledge sharing, empowering patients, families, and communities to shape healthcare in the unique context of the north.
YSPOR has several community hubs across the Yukon. The Dawson YSPOR unit is comprised of one year-round Research Coordinator and numerous Junior Researchers who offer diverse community programming and educational opportunities in partnership with Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in. Join YSPOR staff for plant harvesting, medicine making, field trips, workshops, and more.
YSPOR is funded by the Canadian Institute of Health Research.
