Research on the rise!

YukonU has created a new position to support faculty and student research! Dr. Davon Callander is the new Manager of Research and Scholarly Activity, who aims to further strengthen our research community through the Research Services Office.

Before the exciting parts of research can begin, there are certain requirements that must be met (ie. planning, documenting, corresponding, and more). Davon assists in these aspects; her guidance is available throughout the entire research process, from idea development, to proposal writing, to finalizing reports. Her role is to “make it happen”. Having done molecular research in several different countries and filled leadership roles at several different institutions, Davon brings the best of her experiences to YukonU’s robust research community.

This role will not only encourage students to address northern issues but enable their research to come into action. As her position began at the beginning of the year, Davon is currently connecting with students and staff to discuss and identify areas in need of support. She hopes that over time this role will contribute to the developing culture of research at YukonU.
