CR CE06 - Consent and Boundaries in the Workplace
Research shows that organizations that prioritize consent and healthy boundaries experience fewer conflicts, higher retention, and stronger cultures of respect. This course equips participants with the language, skills, and tools to identify personal and professional boundaries, advocate for their needs, and support others in doing the same.
Participants will explore the shared responsibility between individuals and employers in maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace, balancing self-advocacy with adherence to organizational policies and values.
This course is suitable for a broad workplace audience working in unionized and non-unionized environments, including:
- Frontline employees and team members
- Supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders
- HR professionals and people-and-culture practitioners
- Union representatives or committee members
- Senior leaders seeking to align policies and practices with respectful workplace values
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define and apply key concepts related to consent, boundaries, and intersectionality.
- Reflect on how values, identity, and experience shape personal and professional boundaries.
- Communicate needs assertively using respectful, consistent, and clear language.
- Identify strategies for addressing boundary violations constructively and safely.
- Explore the employer’s role in fostering a consent-based organizational culture.
- Create an action plan to promote a culture of respect, safety, and inclusion.
