Feb19 Student update on potential strike

Dear Students,

Yukon University has added new information for International students to our website. This information is provided by a Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant and summarizes information shared at the February 11th information session the consultant hosted at the Ayamdigut campus.

On February 17th, Yukon University leadership held a second meeting with Yukon University Student Union President Mandeep Singh to hear concerns from students, and to share approaches to communication.

YukonU’s Senate also met on the evening of February 18th to consider an academic disruption plan. As your YUSU President has shared, the Senate has agreed to create an ad hoc committee, including students, to revise the academic disruption plan. The plan will then be brought back to Senate prior to March 2nd.

YukonU and the Public Service Alliance of Canada will be meeting again on Monday, February 23 to continue to seek a resolution to collective bargaining.
