THEA 200 - Introduction to Acting 1

"If you're going to be in the spotlight you might as well shine." An introduction to acting for stage and the requirements of everyday life. This practical course emphasizes awareness of self, relaxation, concentration, observation, sense of memory and justification. Discussions, readings and writing focus attention on physical aspects of storytelling and performance. Students learn from observing, considering and doing. This course will require students to work at home, work in groups, and dedicate time to learning lines and rehearsing outside of class hours.
