RENR 478 - Ecological Footprint Assessment
A detailed exploration of the concept and methods applied to evaluation of human demands on natural systems, in the context of ecological sustainability; specifically, the calculation of area of productive land and water required to produce the natural resources (including ecosystem services) used by human populations. Global and regional perspectives will be addressed. Students will contribute to a Yukon-based ecological footprint assessment that includes multiple scenarios involving energy, food, water and land-use.
