NOST 201 - The Natural History of the North

This course provides a broad overview of the natural history of circumpolar northern regions. Students study the plants and animals of the North, their adaptations to the environments, and the forces that shape and have shaped the northern landscapes.

Prerequisite(s): Enrolled in School of Science or School of Liberal Arts. ENGL 100 or 100-level COMM recommended.

Please note that the field trip to Alaska will not be happening for the Fall 2025 offering of this course, there will be a different field trip planned for within Canada only. At least one field trip remains mandatory for all students registered in this course.
