Health assessment must be done in a holistic manner. Physical, psychological and social components need to be included in the assessment; preparing graduates for the health care environment with a unique body of knowledge, combining both arts and science. The nurse must learn to gather data from a variety of sources and assess the client in a thorough, organized manner. The nurse then needs to analyze the information gathered, report and document appropriately.
