FINA 051 - Sewing

Students will learn measuring, pattern drafting and basic sewing techniques. Hand sewing skills will include decorative traditional embroidery techniques such as satin stitch, feather stitch, blanket stitch, and the French knot; overhand stitch with welt, baseball stitch and running stitch. Students will learn to operate a basic sewing machine and a serger. Students will apply skills learned and follow quality control standards to complete stitch samplers, a needle/fabric/thread chart, a project mural, a beading mat and gauntlet mittens.
