ENVS 226 - Environmental Change and Community Health

This course complements ENVS 225: Environmental Change and Fish and Wildlife Health. It covers some of the same material but in less depth, focusing more on the impact of environmental changes (such as environmental contaminants and climate change) on human health.

This course is relevant for all northerners but particularly for those in the health field. The course discusses the importance of traditional food to the health of northerners, alternative models of health and wellness, and traditional versus modern diets in light of the latest research results on contaminants and other environmental issues in the North.

Prerequisite: 2nd-year standing in the School of Liberal Arts or School of Science.
