ELEC 103 - Maintenance Electrical
This course provides instruction in basic electricity concepts, tools, and how to
perform basic electrical maintenance tasks with a focus on needs particular to
Northern communities. Students will learn plugs, switches, and lighting related tasks.
Emphasis will be placed on safe practices when engaging in electrical tasks, how to
recognize problems, and when to engage a certified electrician. Students will apply
their classroom learning to housing maintenance projects in their own communities
and participate in a community of practice in which they will share their learning
experiences with fellow learners and connect housing maintenance to overall
community and personal wellness.
