EL 223 - Inclusive & Equitable Learning Environments

Returning to foundations of child growth and development, we consider the impact of pedagogies that embrace diversity on the creation of equitable learning environments. You are invited to critically reflect on historical inequities that have, and continue to, influence current policies and systematic approaches. Advocacy emerges as a vehicle to challenge the barriers to inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all children. Acknowledging and honouring the rights of the child fuels the exploration on what it means to create a democratic learning community and challenges us to reimagine ourselves as educators who teach for transformation and educate for social justice.

This course is restricted to students in the Early Learning program
