Yukon College now accepting applications for September 2020
WHITEHORSE, YT—Applications are now open for future students wishing to begin programs and courses in September 2020.
Yukon College has moved the opening date for applications for the Fall Term to October 15 from January 15 to better align with other Canadian universities and to allow for increased interest in attending the institution as it transitions to become Yukon University – Canada's first university North of 60.
“The number of future students applying and registering for Yukon College programs is steadily increasing each year. Some programs have limited seats, so we encourage everyone to apply and register as early as possible to avoid disappointment,” said Dr. Wally Rude, registrar and dean of Enrolment Services.
“This is an exciting year as students will apply to Yukon College but will graduate from Yukon University.”
Rude added that applying for a program is only the first step in the post-secondary admissions process. Future students will need to select and register in courses. They also may need to apply for financial support and apply for campus housing.
Applications for the Winter Term beginning January 2020 also opened this week.
The final significant milestone in Yukon College’s journey to becoming YukonU is the tabling and passing of the Yukon University Act by the Government of Yukon. Following this, the College will share details on the official YukonU launch celebration set for May 8 and 9, 2020.
