For the love of water: Recent applied hydrology projects in the Yukon
Research in Progress talk
The role of hydrology research can involve explaining and addressing unexpected, complex, often chaotic, water behaviour. In a majority of cases, we are the problem. We keep underestimating how flowing water adjusts to our actions. This presentation summarizes the context and the results of four hydrology projects taking place in different Yukon settings.
Benoit Turcotte has learned from small streams and large rivers since teenage years. His favorite nerding activity consists in catching the moment when water and ice are laughing at our ambitions to control them. His ultimate goal as a researcher is to improve our relationship with dynamic stream environments.
Co-hosted by YukonU and Yukon Science Institute, and a Canada Climate Week Xchange event.
Talks are open and free to the public, students, staff and faculty.
Cookies and coffee will be served.
