Jack Kobayashi and Antonio Zedda, principals of kobayashi+zedda architects ltd. (KZA), together with their partner firm 360˚ Design Build, are pleased to offer a $1,500 bursary to women studying full-time in the Trades at Yukon University.

KZA logokobayashi+zedda architects ltd. is the largest Yukon architecture firm with a combined experience of almost 50 years working in every eco-region of the Yukon. The firm has a team that includes urban planners, architects, general contractors and carpenters.

360 Design Build logo360˚ Design Build is an active private developer, having constructed a myriad of multi-use commercial/residential projects in downtown Whitehorse. 

Deeply involved in the transformation of downtown Whitehorse into a vibrant living and working community. KZA and 360˚ Design Build believe in a compact, pedestrian-friendly environment, where building design is a reflection of the conditions unique to this part of the world. They also believe that a gender balance in the construction trades, reflective of the general population, supports effective building projects.

Eligibility

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person
  • Be registered full-time in a Yukon University Trades program
  • Demonstrate financial need

Completed Student Financial Award Application Form
  • Indicate how long you have lived in the Yukon immediately prior to your award application

NOTE: Preference will be given to female applicants who have been in the Yukon for two years or longer. Second priority will go to female applicants who have resided in the Yukon for less than two years. If there are no female applicants, the Chair of Yukon University's trades program will nominate the trades student demonstrating the highest academic merit.
