Native Northwest Reconciliation Award
Native Northwest is pleased to support Indigenous students at Yukon University with a $500 award.
Native Northwest is committed to building everyday connection to Indigenous cultures through authentic art. The company's lifelong relationship with each artist (whose art is featured on Native Northwest's products) is built on a foundation of respect and authenticity, ensuring that each artist is honoured and able to tell the stories of their communities and cultures through their distinct designs.
These awards were made possible by the Native Northwest Reconciliation Fund. Everyone at the company hopes that this award, and the conversations it initiates, will foster reflection, inspiration and ultimately, action.
Eligibility
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person
- Be of Indigenous ancestry
- Be registered as a full-time or part-time student in a Yukon University program
- Share how this award will support your educational journey related to one or more of the following topics: Wellness, Learning and/or Culture
- You may choose a creative medium to share your thoughts (eg., photography, drawing, video, podcast, zine, comic/graphic novel, storytelling, creative non-fiction, poetry, spoken word, written word, music/song, dance, animation, beading, carving, painting, etc.)
- Your artistic creation must be accompanied by a short statement (2-3 paragraphs) describing how the piece responds to the suggested topics. You can use audio, video, jpg or pdf to submit your creation, accompanied by a pdf of the explanation.
