The Earth Sciences program is seeking a part-time (0.75 FTE) instructor to teach a range of 1st and 2nd-year undergraduate geoscience courses in the 2022-2023 academic year. All instruction will be face-to-face at Yukon University’s Ayamdigut campus in Whitehorse, Yukon. The instructor will be responsible for a combination of lecture and laboratory instruction, with three course sections (lecture or lab) per term. Courses under consideration include: GEOL 108 (Earth Through Time), GEOL 112 (Introduction to the Mineral Exploration and Mining Industries), GEOL 200 (Mineralogy), GEOL 206 (Sedimentation and Stratigraphy), GEOL 208 (Structural Geology), and GEOL 216 (Introduction to Field Methods and Mapping II). The exact courses will depend on the hire and their skillsets relative to other faculty members. Links to each course can be found on the Earth Sciences program website: www.yukonu.ca/earthsciences.

Applicants are required to have a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in geoscience, with previous post-secondary teaching experience a significant asset. Additional employment hours on currently funded geoscience research projects may be available to the hire should interest exist. The hire will work closely with other science faculty members and be supervised by the Chair of the School of Science.
