Yukon University is seeking a Project Officer to support the coordination and delivery of infrastructure projects and operational service requests across its campuses.

Reporting to the Manager, University Infrastructure, the Project Officer supports space planning, infrastructure project coordination, and service request management to ensure campus facilities are functional, efficient, and responsive to institutional needs. The role assists with planning and coordinating infrastructure improvements, workspace changes, furniture installations, and minor renovations across Yukon University campuses.

Working closely with internal departments, contractors, and the Infrastructure team, the Project Officer coordinates service requests related to campus infrastructure and assists with project implementation. Responsibilities include preparing layout drawings and space plans using AutoCAD, developing visual renderings of renovation concepts using tools such as Promob, supporting vendor quote collection and procurement processes, and maintaining project documentation.

The position also assists with coordinating project activities with contractors and infrastructure staff and supports the preparation and configuration of campus spaces for institutional events and operational activities. The Project Officer communicates regularly with university employees, faculty, contractors, and external partners, including Yukon Government departments such as Public Works.

The role requires the ability to manage multiple service requests and project tasks while meeting operational timelines and supporting campus infrastructure initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience
• Post-secondary degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field. 
• Minimum 2 years' experience supporting building maintenance, infrastructure, or renovation projects.
• Understanding of space planning, furniture layout, and workspace configuration. 
• Experience supporting infrastructure, facilities, or renovation-related projects. 
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, prepare layout plans using AutoCAD / similar drafting tools. 
• Experience developing visual concepts or renderings for renovation or interior space planning using visualization tools such as Promob. 
• Experience coordinating service requests or operational tasks related to building infrastructure, workspace changes, furniture installations, or event setups. 
• Familiarity with project coordination activities including vendor quotes, procurement support, and contractor coordination. 
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal departments, contractors, and stakeholders.

Desirable Assets & Personal Suitability
• Experience using infrastructure or asset management systems such as Archibus, GIS Indoors, Survey123, or similar platforms. 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. 
• Attention to detail when preparing layouts, documentation, and project materials. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment. 
• Physical ability to occasionally lift or move furniture or equipment (up to approximately 50 lb).
