Yukon University is seeking a dynamic and organized Coordinator to support the Pelly Campus in delivering high-quality programs, strengthening community partnerships, and enhancing the student experience.

About the Role 
Reporting to the Department Head, Continuing Studies, the Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of community-based learning and campus services, including:
• Workforce certificate training
• General interest and community programs
• Cultural and land-based learning initiatives
• Student support and day-to-day campus operations

The coordinator works closely with Selkirk First Nation, community partners, and YukonU colleagues to ensure learners are supported, welcomed, and connected to culturally grounded educational opportunities. You will also represent Yukon University at community events, job fairs, and regional gatherings.

This position is headquartered in Pelly Crossing, serving the broader community and region.

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate campus programs, courses, events, and student services
• Provide administrative and logistical support to learners, instructors, and staff
• Liaise with First Nations governments, local agencies, and community organizations
• Promote YukonU initiatives, programs, and learning pathways in the Pelly region
• Ensure campus operations follow university policies and procedures
• Support culturally relevant, community-driven, and land-based programming

Skills & Qualifications 
Post-secondary education (degree, diploma, or certificate), or equivalent experience. Applicants with relevant experience in First Nations governments, Yukon Government, or community organizations will also be fully considered.
• Background in program coordination, community engagement, administration, or service delivery
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
• Knowledge of Yukon communities and commitment to northern education
• Knowledge of Yukon First Nations—particularly Selkirk First Nation—is an asset
• Comfort participating in or supporting land-based learning and cultural programming

Additional Requirements
• Valid Yukon driver’s license (within 6 months of hire)
• First Aid certification (within 6 months of hire)
