Yukon University is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Education Programs Officer to join our Faculty of Applied Arts. This term position plays a key role in the development, coordination, and promotion of programming for Education Assistants (EAs) and supports field placements within our Education degree programs (YNTEP and After-Degree).
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the planning, promotion, and tracking of education and training programs for Education Assistants. They will work closely with YukonU’s partners in education to ensure programming meets territorial needs. They will also collaborate with YukonU faculty to coordinate education field placements across Yukon schools, manage mini-course development under the university’s Micro-credential Framework, and serve as the main point of contact for EA programming and a key resource for student field experiences.
Education & Experience:
• Degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching and/or program coordination.
• Experience working in K-12 education and supporting post-secondary programming.
Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of the role of Education Assistants and field placements in public education.
• Familiarity with micro-credentialing, student information systems (e.g., Banner), and digital communication tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Skilled in various software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.).
Strong communication, record-keeping, and logistical coordination are essential to the role. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organized, and customer-service focused. They should demonstrate strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive practices. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders is also necessary.
