To the Yukon University Community,
Yukon University will deliver a quality education experience this fall, despite COVID-19 challenges, while ensuring the safety of students, faculty and staff. Faculty have worked out detailed plans for each YukonU program and students who have currently registered will be receiving program details via email in the second week of June. By the end of June each program page on the website will include delivery plans. Students are encouraged to contact the advisor listed on their program page for personalized advising, or contact the general advising office at ssc@yukonu.ca or 867 668 8720 (toll free: 1 800 661 0504).
This is a challenging time. We can’t wait to welcome you back to our campuses, but for the time being we will be modifying plans to ensure your health and wellness, and to comply with the Yukon Chief Medical Officer of Health. At Yukon University, we’re committed to providing a place and pathway for every learner. Please rest assured that our faculty and support staff will work with you to develop a plan that meets your needs. Your well-being is our priority!
While the primary mode of delivery will be online, we recognize that not all learning experiences can be delivered through an online model. We’re making provisions for the use of labs, shops, the art studio in Dawson, and practicum experiences, subject to public health approvals. We also recognize the value of experiencing university life, in person, and we’re doing all that we can to provide opportunities that will improve your time at YukonU. Please watch for information coming out this summer!
We certainly understand that news of anything other than in-person classes and experiencing life on campus will come as a disappointment to many, we want to remind you ‘this too will pass’. Don’t fall behind on your plans! Stick with it. Investing time in education now, will position you well for the future.
