How to Search for E-Books

There are two ways to search our collection of e-books: from the Discovery Search (general search on the library website) or from the databases (Ebsco Ebook Collection or GVRL)

From WorldCat Discovery

  1. Type in your keywords on the Discovery Search page.
  2. Use the "Format" filter on the left side of the screen to refine results to "Ebook"

From the Databases

  1. Open Ebsco Ebook Collection, JSTOR or Gale Virtual Reference Library ( GVRL). These databases have different e-book titles, so it is recommended to check them individually.
  2. Search for the topic of your interest.

Can I download e-books?

It depends. Ebooks provided through Ebsochost (Ebsco Ebooks Collection) are only available for online reading, but you may be able to download sections of the book, depending on the item.

Ebooks that are licensed as "open access" (normally from JSTOR) can be downloaded chapter by chapter. Books available from GVRL can only be viewed online, but it is possible to download chapters when viewing the item as HTML (Text View).
