Official contest rules
- Contest
1.1 Yukon University (YukonU) is the contest sponsor of the YukonU 60th Anniversary Contest.
1.2 This contest will be run from October 23, 2023 at 9am Yukon Time to November 30, 2023 at 11:59pm Yukon Time. - Eligibility
2.1 This contest is open to entrants who have taken a credit or non-credit class since 1963 at any YukonU or Yukon College campus, or Yukon Vocational and Technical Training Centre.
2.2 Entrants must be 19 years or older as of the date their entry is submitted. - How to enter
3.1 No purchase necessary. Only one (1) entry per contest entrant.
3.2. Entrants may enter this contest by submitting the digital form accessed online at YukonU.ca/enter-to-win. No other entry will be accepted. - How to win
4.1 Ten (10) winners will be randomly selected from entries submitted.
4.3 Winners will be randomly selected by December 8, 2023 and contacted by the email provided on the entry form no later than December 11, 2023 at 4:30 p.m Yukon Time. Winners must respond within seven (7) business days by email to the contact number or email provided in the notification. If the winner fails to respond within the time specified by YukonU, they will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected.
4.4 Odds of winning depend on the number of entrants. - Prizes
5.1 The prizes are as follows and will be distributed in this order:
(i) One (1) $500 gift certificate for air travel with Air North, Yukon's Airline.
(ii) Nine (9) YukonU hoodies (approx. value $65CAD each). Size and colour vary.
5.2 The prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prize are permitted except by YukonU discretion. YukonU reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Prizes are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part. - General rules
6.1 Prize may be picked up at the Ayamdigut Campus, Whitehorse, or mailed to Canadian mailing addresses only.
6.2 By participating in this contest, each entrant agrees to: (a) be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of YukonU; and (b) release and hold harmless YukonU, and its Board of Governors, officers, employees and agents from and against any liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs and expenses (including lawyer’s fees and litigation expenses on a solicitor and own client basis) whatsoever to which any of them may become subject arising from any actions or omissions by the entrant.
6.3 By participating in this contest, each entrant agrees that YukonU may post the entrant’s name, information from their contest entry form and photo (may be submitted or arranged through a YukonU photographer) on communication material in perpetuity, including its social media channels.
6.4 The decisions of YukonU in relations to this contest will be final and binding on all entrants.
6.5 YukonU reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend this contest, at its discretion, at any time without prior notice.
6.6 The prize claim is subject to verification by YukonU and/or its designated representatives. Entries made with multiple addresses, under multiple identities, or through the use of any device or other method to enter multiple times or entries that are in excess of the permitted number of entries are automatically void. All contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources or which are incomplete or in any way not in compliance with these Official Contest Rules are automatically void. YukonU is not responsible for any lost or late entries. YukonU is not responsible for any miscommunication, failed communications systems, software malfunctions, or for any human errors in connection with this contest. YukonU may suspend or terminate this contest if YukonU is of the view this contest’s administration or fair play has been compromised.
6.7 Your personal information is collected under the authority of Section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIFFA). The information provided to enter this contest will be used only to administer this contest.
6.8 This contest is subject to all applicable laws in Yukon Territory and the laws of Canada, as well as these Official Contest Rules.
